About the lab

We focus our work on two main systems, the skeletal muscle and the large vessels of our body – the aorta and its main branches. Both these tissues are rich in ECM and mutations that affect the ECM or the cells’ interaction with the ECM give rise to human diseases affecting these tissues. Hence these tissues serve as a good model in studying the crosstalk between the cells and the surrounding ECM.
