Lox involvement in aneurysm formation

Lox involvement in aneurysm formation

In both mice and humans, mutations in Lox result in aneurysm formation. However, Lox (as well as other members of the family) are expressed in all cell layers of the aorta making it extremely difficult to dissect its roles in the aneurysm formation. Using our conditional knockout strategy, we aim to follow Lox activity specifically in the smooth muscle cells and dissect the transcriptional changes that lead to aneurysms.
